Balloon assisted, ultrasound guided percutaneous thrombin injection of a large radial artery pseudoaneurysm using a trans-venous approach via an Ipsilateral Arteriovenous Fistula

چکیده

Abstract Background Pseudoaneurysm formation is known to complicate arteriovenous haemodialysis access. Ultrasound guided thrombin injection a recognised treatment option, but not possible in pseudoaneurysms with no measurable neck. Balloon assisted techniques have been described such cases, which transiently obstruct flow out of the pseudoaneurysm and thereby prevent non-target embolization during ultrasound percutaneous injection. We describe balloon technique for radial artery pseudoaneurysm, via retrograde access from draining cephalic vein an fistula. Method A 61-year-old male radio-cephalic fistula was found on duplex large neck, as well juxta-anastomotic stenosis. Endovascular selected over open surgery. Retrograde venous established, allowed concurrent both stenosis arterial pseudoaneurysm. After dilation stenosis, transluminal angioplasty catheter advanced across anastomosis inflated neck blood flow. This safe into by direct sac puncture; achieving thrombosis. Conclusions endovascular option that can obviate need surgery cases involving The single puncture. avoided its inherent complications.

Post-sternotomy intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm. Sonographic diagnosis and thrombosis by ultrasound-guided percutaneous thrombin injection.

Intercostal artery pseudoaneurysms are extremely rare. We present a case of an intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm after median sternotomy that was treated by ultrasound-guided percutaneous thrombin injection. They are a potential source of complications, especially haemothorax, and treatment is mandatory. Different methods may be used for the confirmatory diagnosis of false aneurysms. Doppler ul...

Ultrasound-guided thrombin injection for the treatment of an iatrogenic hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm: a case report

INTRODUCTION Percutaneous transhepatic portal embolization is often performed to expand the indications for hepatic resection. Various etiologies of hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm have been reported, but regardless of the etiology, hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is usually managed with an endovascular approach or open surgery, depending on the location and clinical symptomatology. However, it is ...

Treatment of an iatrogenic femoral artery pseudoaneurysm with percutaneous duplex-guided injection of thrombin.

A65-year-old woman was referred to the vascular laboratory after coronary angiography and stent insertion via an 8F right femoral artery sheath. The patient received ticlopidine 500 mg after the procedure. A large pulsatile mass with a diffuse hematoma developed several hours after removal of the sheath from the groin, and a 4.2-cm false aneurysm arising from the common femoral artery was confi...

Traumatic axillary artery pseudoaneurysm treated with intravascular balloon occlusion and percutaneous thrombin injection.

Axillary artery pseudoaneurysms are relatively rare, with few reported cases found in the literature. Furthermore, treatment with percutaneous thrombin injection has not yet been reported. We report the case of a 59-year-old man with a large (10 cm) post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the left axillary artery found five weeks after a motorcycle crash. The patient sustained multiple injuries, inclu...

Ultrasound-Guided Thrombin Injection in the Treatment of Femoral Artery Pseudoaneurysm after Percutaneous Procedures in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

background: Ultrasound-guided thrombin injection (TI) is an option for the treatment of femoral artery pseudoaneurysm. Nevertheless, the result of this technique in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) may be compromised by the use of antithrombotic drugs. In addition, thrombin extravasation to systemic circulation could potentially cause an increase in thromboembolic events. Methods: Pa...
